Kalamansi or the Philippine Lime, is a popular citrus fruit or shrub in the Philippines. This is one of the most popular Pinoy cooking ingredients, sometimes used in sinigang or even "kilawin", or "sawsawan". It is prefered by Filipinos over other citrus plants because of the juice and its numerous uses. It has a distinct fresh odour, and when bitten, the seeds are bitter.
The Philippines is currently the only exporter of Kalamansi, in nearby Asian Countries, and even in the US. This is due to lime's numerous health benefits, which are well-known around the world.
